My story and the Empowered Women's Collective mission

I'm Viv, Mum of 2, and Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist

The inspiration for Empowered Women's Collective comes from my experiences during pregnancy and recovery after birth. Even though my babies were small, I didn't recognise my own belly after my second birth! I struggled with diastasis recti - "a separation of the abdominal wall". I had urinary incontinence - leaking when I sneezed and coughed, not to mention running and jumping...crikey! During my pregnancy I also had some aches and pain in my lower back and sciatica so had to stop doing what I loved, and that was lifting weights. 

 

I found it so hard to get any sort of useful or effective advice on what I should and shouldn't be doing both pre and postnatal birth and realised there must be other women like me.

I have been an avid athlete my entire life. I grew up in Australia and played every sport under the sun (pardon the pun), then turned to strength and conditioning when I moved to the UK 8 years ago. I have competed in many fitness races and even bodybuilding competitions.

 

My passion for fitness and experiences as a mum led me to change careers. I am on a path to continually educate myself in the realm of women's health, learning from the best and continually adapting my methods to be the best I can be for my clients. So here we are today. I created this space to give you the support you deserve. To help reclaim your body and confidence.

Empowered Women's Collective Mission

MY MISSION IS TO HELP MUMS REGAIN THEIR STRENGTH, HEALTH AND CONFIDENCE

Whether you are a new mum or have a grown child, it is never too late to improve your core and pelvic floor. But let's be honest, it isn't easy to prioritise ourselves when we become a mum. It is often challenging to get sufficient sleep, let alone find the time and motivation to exercise. Just know that taking care of yourself is taking care of your family. That's where I step in. I'm here to coach you and give you the tools to heal, harness your inner mama strength, and simply nourish yourself.

MY QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

 Certified Pre and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist, coursework from women's health physical therapist Sarah Duvall: Core Exercise Solutions. Certified Pre and Postnatal Coach through Girls Gone Strong.
